Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers
– strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.”
– Barbara Katz Rothman
Every baby brought earth side is a beautiful gift. The journey to motherhood can be smooth sailing for some and for others it can be full of twists and turns. A postpartum doula is a trained professional who is with you every step of the way, acting as a bridge of support, an extra set of hands – allowing you to focus on rest and creating an inseparable bond with your new baby and your family.
The word “doula” comes from the ancient Greek meaning “a woman who serves.” A postpartum doula provides physical, emotional, and informational support in the days (or weeks) following the arrival of your baby. A postpartum doula mothers the mother.
In traditional cultures around the world, the journey into motherhood is celebrated. The mother rests. The mother is fed wholesome food. The mother is cared for and nurtured, while she slowly adjusts into her new role.
What to expect
As a postpartum doula my first priority is to support the new mother while she nourishes and nurtures her baby while ensuring she is rested and relaxed.
Nestle & Bloom offers a range of services to aid in the transition of adding a new member to your family. The tasks each day will depend on your priorities when securing your booking, and can be altered to meet your actual needs as your postpartum journey progresses.

I believe in you, and your mothering abilities. I will encourage you to follow your instincts. And most of all, I can help you celebrate your motherhood journey.
PRICING AND PLANS
Nestle & Bloom’s postpartum doula services are billed on an hourly basis with a two (2) hour minimum for in-home services. Because no two families’ postpartum needs are the same, it is the needs of the family that will determine what type of postpartum care is needed and for how long.
The below postpartum care plans are not intended to lock you into a schedule but to give you an idea on a postpartum care plan that may work best for you. All services are customisable to meet your unique postpartum needs.
Skype or Telephone
$150/hour (1 hour)
This package is perfect for mum’s who have ample support after baby arrives but are wondering what to expect after baby is earth side. We will discuss your postpartum goals, fears and possible challenges. Together we will create your postpartum plan and outline clear intentions for the first few weeks following birth, and understand how to establish long term habits that ensure your new journey is one of peace and joy.
First Day Home
$100/hour (min 2 hours)
I will meet you at your home the day (or day after) you bring your baby back from the hospital or after a home-birth. You will be lovingly supported while you care for your newborn and learn how to breast or bottle-feed. Of course everything is better with food! You will be comforted with a healthy meal and snack, and offered a relaxation bath, while light house work is taken off your mind and siblings are cared for.
The Essentials Kit
$100/hour (min 2 hours)
I will come to your home two (2) times per week for the first few weeks to support the family and teach the basics of infant feeding and care, soothing skills, interpreting cues, and providing recovery time for new mothers after a non-complicated delivery. You will be nourished with a healthy meal and snack, offered a relaxation bath, while lighthouse work, errands and siblings are cared for.
I Want it All
$1000 (10 hours)
Includes the “Essentials Kit” plus ten (10) hours per week of in-home support. Support will vary family-to-family, and totally customisable upon your needs. Assistance can be meal prep, dog walker, clothes washer, laundry folder, baby holder, floor sweeper, shoulder to lean on and ears to listen.
Extended care is only offered as a service to existing Nestle & Bloom clients – generally after basic care has ended. I will come to your home to care for mum, baby, and household. This service can be arranged with flexibility for several months as needed. This service can be used for evenings out, appointments, and other transitional times.
Just Be There
